GOVERNOR MALLOY SIGNS NEW PICC BILL INTO LAW! - June 3, 2011
PICC BILL HB 6373 becomes law effective October 1, 2011. This change in Connecticut legislation is historic and marks a major victory that should dramatically improve infusion care for Long Term Care patients in this state. The legislation allows the insertion and removal of PICC lines in Long Term Care by clinically competent Registered Nurses.
PICC BILL HB 6373 HAS PASSED THE CONNECTICUT SENATE - May 10, 2011
Breaking News! The House Bill HB 6373 has passed the Senate! Next the Bill will go to Governor Malloy. If he signs the Bill into law, RNs credentialed and experienced in PICC insertion and removal will be able to perform these procedures in the state of Connecticut Long Term Care Facilities. This is an exciting time in the state of Connecticut and we have an opportunity to elevate Long Term Care patients’ infusion therapy care. The Connecticut Chapter of Infusion Nurses Society especially thanked Eve Curtin, CRNI, and Samuel Rice, BSN, of Infusion Plus, Inc. and High Tech Nursing Services for bringing this important topic to the attention of the Connecticut Legislature.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES PASSES PICC BILL - April 13, 2011
House Bill HB 6373 (the bill that will change Connecticut DPH legislation to allow insertion and removal of PICC lines in Long Term Care by clinically competent Registered Nurses) has passed the Connecticut House of Representatives. The Bill passed with a unanimous vote for the bill on April 13, 2011. It will now move on to the State Senate, and if passed it will next go to Governor Malloy for approval.
CLINICIANS RECEIVE ADVANCED EDUCATION - March 8, 2011

LEGISLATIVE HEARING SLATED FOR FEBRUARY 23 - February 16, 2011
A public hearing beginning at 10:00 a.m. will be held at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, 210 Capitol Avenue with reference to the proposed bill to permit PICC placement in Long Term Care Facilities in Connecticut.
STATE OF CONNECTICUT PROPOSAL FOR PICC PLACEMENT - February 4, 2011
High Tech Nursing Services, a dba of Infusion Plus, Inc. located in Connecticut begins discussions with State Representative Joseph Aresimowitz to sponsor a bill for RNs credentialed and experienced to place and remove PICCs in Long Term Care Facilities. A letter explaining the importance and need for this bill to pass was mailed to Directors of Nursing at Long Term Care Facilities in Connecticut.

I.V. EDUCATIONAL CENTER OPENS - August 21, 2009
The new educational center at Infusion Plus will accommodate all your I.V. training needs. This state-of-the-art teaching center will provide a focus-centered experience for all attendees. The use of PowerPoint presentations and a hands-on return demonstration assure that your nursing staff receives the best education possible in a controlled environment designed specifically for teaching and continuing education. Classes are either eight (8) hours for I.V. certification or four (4) hours for I.V. re-certification. Any specialty I.V. classes such as Total Parenteral Nutrition or Pain Management may require fewer hours to present.
